Jane: After teaching for nearly 20 years years, I started Cultural Hi-Ways, a tour company introducing au pairs and students to the wonders of the U.S. and Canada. Since its inception in 1990, Cultural Hi-Ways has had the pleasure of expanding the travel and educational horizons of tens of thousands of young visitors to our shores.
Lou: I'm an attorney but, when it comes to travel, my most important role is that of Jane's factotum.
For many years, long before House Hunters International came on the scene, we owned a small apartment in Ticino, Switzerland's Italian speaking canton. It was beautiful, but we found ourselves longing for a more peaceful setting where we could truly be part of the local community. Fortunately, we came upon Spello, a small hill town in the beautiful Italian region of Umbria. We felt there was something quiet, yet forceful, that called us there.
Spello is surrounded by olive trees, the source of its highly prized olive oil. We intentionally planned this tour so you would base here for 5 nights, in hopes that you might also experience, during your short stay, what it's like to live life in a small town in the heart of Umbria. Perhaps you'll also feel the "magical" attraction it has for so many. Time will tell...
Until we meet in Umbria,
Jane & Lou Rolla
